Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ubuntu Academy website, courses and downloadable materials (together, the "Services"), provided by Ubuntu Academy (Pty) Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). By purchasing a course or using our Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or have a guardian's consent, to purchase a course. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity on your account.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share, resell or redistribute course videos, downloads or templates.
  • Use our Services in any way that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape or bypass the platform's access controls.
  • Use automated systems to access the Services in a way that sends more requests than a human could produce.

3. Intellectual property

All course content, materials, trademarks and software are owned by Ubuntu Academy or its licensors. On purchase, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the course for personal, non-commercial learning. All other rights are reserved.

4. Payments

Prices are shown in South African rand (ZAR) and may include applicable taxes as required by law. Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. By purchasing, you authorise the charge of the full amount shown at checkout.

5. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Availability and changes

We may update, add or remove course content and features over time. We aim to keep courses available for the lifetime of the platform, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

7. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". Our courses are educational and do not constitute professional advice (legal, financial, medical or otherwise). Results vary with individual effort and circumstances.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ubuntu Academy's total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if you breach these Terms, particularly the acceptable use rules or licence restrictions.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Johannesburg, Gauteng, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through an updated version of this page.
